Devotionals

Pastor Gene sends weekly devotionals to members.  Below are some of the most recent.
May I ask you a very direct question?

How much do you want to succeed in life?

Don't answer that too quickly.  Obviously, no one aims to fail at anything they do.  But it's amazing how many people have come across the formula for success, only to leave it laying on the table while they stay broke, sick, and defeated.

Many people think success is easy for those who are gifted with great abilities, or for those who have climbed the ladder of a business seemingly very easily. However, the reality is that real  supernatural success is no picnic for anyone to achieve. It takes courage.  It takes faith. And most times it doesn't have anything to do with your natural to ability.

If you're wishing God would give you a formula, wish no more.  He has.  It's the same one He gave Joshua and it will work just as well for you as it did for him.

Joshua 1:8....This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou may observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.

Exodus 3:12.....God answered Moses, "certainly I will be with thee".  In other words, God told Moses, and likewise you and I, "It doesn't matter who you are Moses.  It matters Who I am, for I am with you.

Friends, our God is for us, so who can be against us

Take Back What the        Enemy Has Stolen

The four leperous men in (2 Kings 7:3,4) knew they were going to die if they didn't get something to eat.  In contemplating their plight, they made the unlikely decision to go into the enemy's camp.  As they went, God made their feet sound like an entire army and the Syrians fled in fear, leaving all of their food, supplies, and livestock behind.

The four leperous men entered the enemy camp"...went into one tent and ate and drank, and carried from it silver and gold and clothing, and went and hid them; then they came back and entered another tent, and carried some from there also, and went and hid it" (2 Kings 7:8)

In the same way that these lepers marched directly into the enemy's camp, it's time for you to march toward your enemy and take back what the devil's stolen, the things that rightfully belong to you.  It is God's will for you to be free in your spirit, soul, body, family, and finances.  It is His will for you to own your home debt free.  It is God's will that you have a vehicle that runs well and is paid for. It is God's will for you to be out of debt and that you are in a position to be a blessing wherever you go.  He wants you to live in absolute victory!

God's Overflow

God enjoys our prosperity. His Word says, "Let them shout for joy and be glad, who favor My righteous cause; and let them say continually, "Let the Lord be magnified, Who has pleasure in the prosperity of His servant."  It doesn't say pleasure in the poverty of His servant, but pleasure in the prosperity of His servant.  This is not just talking about money. It is talking about living in the overflow of God's goodness and His abundance.

"Then it shall be to Me a name of joy, praise, and honor before all nations of the earth, who shall hear all the good that I do to them; they shall fear and tremble for all the goodness (the glory) and all the prosperity that I provide for it" Jeremiah 33:9.

You may say, "Well, that's for Israel, not us." Wrong! Galatians 3:29 says, "And if you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham's offspring and heirs according to the promise." We are the inheritors of the promise.

Friends, that is goodnews! Let's live in the overflow that God desires for us. Let's live where God wants us to live.

Words of Wisdom

What is the key to success?  In the minds of more and more Americans, the answer to that question is not "hard work," "ingenuity," or "resourcefulness."  No, increasingly, we seem to believe the key to the good life is "luck."

According to the Bible, there is no such thing as luck.  Success is a product of operating by certain principles.  Ralph Waldo Emerson concurred.  He once wrote: "Shallow men believe in luck and circumstance.  Strong men believe in cause and effect."  Today millions of Americans are pinning their hopes and dreams for a brighter future on a lottery ticket rather than sweat and creativity.

God's words of wisdom for us today are effort and ingenuity.

Let's walk in the favor and blessings God has given each or us.

 People Get Ready

God is getting ready to do a work in these last days in His church that is so astonishing, so phenominal that some of us will not believe it after it is told to us because it is something that will just set us ablaze with the glory of God  We have to be ready.  People are going to be drawn to the glory of God.  They are not going to church to be drawn to a beat down, wimpy church.

Most Christians have the door closed when it comes to prosperity in their lives.  Don't let yourself become accustomed to believing that things are never going to get any better.  We must start living in the overflow.  The man who fears God lives in prosperity.

"Who is the man that fears the Lord? Him shall He teach in the way He chooses. He Himself shall dwell in prosperity, and his descendants shall inherit the earth" (Ps. 25:12-13).  Who is to inherit the earth?  You and me!  We are the descendants.  We are the ones who inherit.

God enjoys our prosperity.  "Let them shout for joy and be glad, who favor My righteous cause; and let them say continually, Let the Lord be magnified, Who has pleasure in the prosperity of His servant."  It doesn't say pleasure in the poverty of His servant.  This is not just talking about money.  It is talking about living in the overflow of God's goodness and His abundance.  "WOW!"

Hold your head high, you're a child of the King.  Friends, I'm proud of my heritage.  How about you?

Take Your Healing

Take it! That's exactly what you have to do if you want to obtain healing.God has given each of us the choice. He said it this way: "I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that bpth thou and thy seed may live" (Deut.30:19). We must choose to take what God has offered. And we must do that-"by force" (Matt.11:12).

In fact, in every area of life, obtaining the victory boils down to one thing: Just atke God at His Word. What He says- What is written in His Word- is the absolute truth and it really will work if we will only take hold of it.The fact of the matter is, healing is no problem for the Lord. The only hard part is getting people to believe what He has said about it so they can receive their healing.

"Words are mere expressions of thought, but faith in those words become their foundation."
